Process

The Grants and Evaluation Committee makes recommendations for program funding to the Jewish Federation Board of Directors.  The Board makes the final funding decisions.  The decisions of the Board are final; there is no process for appeals.

Past reports on community funding are available on-line at www.jewishottawa.com.

Applications for funding for 2014/15 and 2015/16 will be accepted starting in October 2013.
The deadline for applications is November 22, 2013

An information session will be offered to all community agencies in October 2013.
Please select one session to attend:
        Wednesday, October 9, from 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
        Or,
       Tuesday, October 15, 2013 from 11:00 am - 12:00 Noon

Hands-on assistance and technical support in preparing applications are available upon request.

Applications are reviewed by the Grants and Evaluation Committee from November 2013 through February 2014.  Face- to- face meetings with agencies are held in January.  These meetings provide an opportunity for agencies to highlight important aspects of their applications and for Grants and Evaluation Committee members to ask any questions that might arise. The Committee’s funding recommendations are submitted to the Board for approval in May 2014, and funding notification letters are distributed at that time.

All grants are paid in twelve monthly installments starting July.  If you require an alternate payment schedule, please contact Shelley Crawford, CFO.  She can be reached at (613) 798-4696 x244 or by e-mail at scrawford@jewishottawa.com.  You will be required to provide supplementary financial information to justify and support the request.  We will make every effort to meet your requirements provided they are reasonable and do not conflict with our cash flow needs.
